  • Managing the site on the day of the sale including buyer flow
  • Cleaning the house and finalizing the financial accounting

Auction and Cleanout services


  • Auction services, if needed, will be provided by third party professionals having long standing and trustworthy partnerships with us.   
  • Decisions on which auction house to use are usually made based on the type of items to be auctioned and in consultation with the client.  
  • Curious Cat Estate Sales does not do cleanouts.  If one is required we will make recommendations of qualified third party professionals previously vetted. That contract is between the cleanout company and the client, not CCES.

  • What are the cost associated with a Smooth Transition?  The Client is typically charged by the hour.  
  • How much?  That will depend on the scope of the work.  Fees and ranges will be spelled out in the contract prior to work being done.

Curious Cat Estate Sale FAQs


  • How  long does a typical estate sale take to set up?  Anywhere from a few days to a week.
  • How long does the sale last?  Typically one to two days.
  • Can I stay in my house during the set up and sale? Clients often stick around during set up but we strongly recommend that clients not be present the day of the sale.
  • What is the cost structure of an estate sale?  Typically the client will collect 50%-60% of all sales though this can be higher for certain high priced items such as jewelry, autos, etc.  Commissions are well established in the initial contract.
  • When do I get paid?  The client usually receives an accounting sheet of all sales and a check about a week after the sale.
